Vinyl flooring is a cost-effective and durable flooring material preferred by many home and business owners today. One of the main benefits of this type of flooring is that it can mimic the look of real wood or other higher-end flooring materials at a lower price point.

What Does the Vinyl Floor Installation Process Involve?

At KPI, we can take care of your vinyl floor installation project if you have decided to add vinyl flooring to your home or business. Here is a closer look at the steps we take during the vinyl floor installation process:

  • We will start by preparing the subfloor, fully cleaning it to remove dirt, dust, and debris. We will repair any cracks, holes, and even areas, and level the floor, if needed.
  • We will leave the vinyl planks or sheets in the installation area for at least 24-48 hours before installation. This helps the materials acclimate to the room’s temperature and humidity, preventing expansion or contraction after installation.
  • We will precisely measure the area where the vinyl will be installed to ensure we use the correct amount of material, decide on the direction of the vinyl planks or sheets, and lay down the pieces temporarily.
  • We will get to work installing the vinyl, ensuring all seams are tightly aligned.
  • We will gently tap the seams of the planks to ensure they are securely locked together and then sweep or vacuum the floor to remove any debris and adhesive residue.
